The Third round of the Carabao cup sees the 2015/16 Premier League champions lock horns with the 2019/20 F.A Cup winners at the Kings Power stadium. Both Leicester City and Arsenal are top 6 Premier League teams with great counter attacking abilities.
Both teams has started the 2020/21 Premier League campaign on a high with back to back wins in two games with both teams talisman; James Vardy and P.E Aubameyang finding the back of the net in their first games. However, as regards to the Carabao cup, only Leicester City has won the cup in the 2000's, winning the cup in the year 2000 and Arsenal winning as far back as 1993 and the closest Arsenal has come to the cup was back in 2011 when they were runners up to Birmingham City.
PREDICTED LINE UP
The predicted line-up for both teams will be a very interesting factor in the outcome of the tie. With both teams having a tight game schedule with the Premier league, Europa League and F.A cup games all stuffed in this unusual corona bound season we will see a significant change in both teams line up.
My predicted line up goes thus;
Leicester City
Formation; 4-2-3-1
Ward in goal;
Thomas, Soyuncu, Morgan, Fuchs;
Choudhury, Mendy;
Gary, Maddison, Albrighton;
Iheanacho;
Arsenal
Formation; 3-4-3
Matt Macey in goal;
Saliba, Luiz, Holding;
Cedric, Elneny, Willock, Kolasinac;
Pepe, Nketiah, Nelson
Predicted Score line
The match would be a very interesting one depending on the level of quality and fitness displayed by both teams. For Leicester City I think Maddison would make a big impact and for Arsenal the presence of David Luiz in defense should be a plus. I see the game going into Penalties with score line; Leicester City 1- 1 Arsenal.
